Nicolás Tassitani – Senior Consultant

Nicolás is an engineer with experience in both telecommunications and information technology, specialising in mobile and microwave radio technologies.

At Network Strategies, Nicolás has focussed on access and connectivity issues, including market modelling for new fibre deployments, developing bottom-up engineering models of fixed access networks to calculate the cost of voice and data services and analysing opportunities for international submarine links.

Other projects include:

  • establishing and measuring ICT indicators to assess service pricing, quality and availability, and the level of competition and ICT readiness across national and regional markets
  • examining mobile data offloading and its use as a complementary solution to help to solve network congestion problems
  • managing the Network Strategies spectrum awards database, in which data on spectrum auctions is collected.

 Nicolás joined Network Strategies in 2011 on completion of an assignment at the New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development providing operational support and strategic advice for the development of an “All-of-Government” Voice Communications Supply Agreement.

Prior to this, Nicolás was a Procurement Analyst/Advisor at Telecom Argentina, where he was responsible for negotiating best-in-class contracts with preferred suppliers, for the acquisition of Telecommunications/ICT equipment and services for Telecom Argentina’s fixed and mobile networks. During his time in Telecom he was involved in several special projects including the implementation of the first contract in the company under the Full Turn Key methodology for the acquisition of PDH microwave radios.

Other recent engineering consultancy experience includes the design and development of mobile applications, including technical research of available technologies, solution design, technical and financial feasibility analysis, and testing.

Nicolás has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering majoring in Telecommunications from Buenos Aires University in Argentina.
